In the event of a large scale Ground/Air/Naval invasion of the United States, should your area become a combat zone and you have yet to be evacuated, what do you do? (sorry, those outside the U.S. likely have a variation of these procedures)
Remain in your home/Cooperate with foreign forces 9 (34.6%)
Attempt to rendezvous with allied military forces 5 (19.2%)
Attempt to flee the area 4 (15.4%)
Attempt to assist allied military forces 6 (23.1%)
Travel to family/friends and remain in a large group 1 (3.8%)
Travel to a public area/Former evacuation center 1 (3.8%)

There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding in this area, one that I want to measure. These are heavily simplified choices, and I'm curious as to what most of you think you should do. Not what you would WANT to do, but what you SHOULD do. Please, indulge me.

Well it's unlikely.. and I doubt the US would be a first target...

I would first go on the internet or watch the news.. If the invading force was genocidal or extremist.. I would flee.

I really don't know what the military would want me to do but I would probably not follow their demands if I disagreed.

Even tho I dont live in the states this is what I thought they'd want you to do:

Stay at home. I was torn between going to the public place/former evacuation area but then I thought it would probably be dangerous to run around in the middle of a warzone.

I actually tried to google this (sorry Monty) but is seems NO ONE KNOWS. I actually thought to go to an evacuation center but that would be dangerous to be in a live battlefield. The choice i picked was to cooperate with enemy forces and stay home. After all, doesn't the Geneva Convention prevent harm on civilians?

I chose stay at home but that really depends on the enemy force... if im shot or imprisoned if the enemy force gets me ill gtfo and try to find allied forces or just get away completely, but as long as im kinda left in peace by them i wont try to run....

The Geneva conventions doesn't do much until after the genocide..

I said rendezvous because in an invasion, I'd think even the civilians would need to pitch in and volunteer or what not. Even if it is not so dire as all that, one should be near their home forces for both protection, knowledge, and to help out if needed.

I thought that at first too but then I thought they'd just get in the way of the soldiers as well as making them an enemy target (since the enemy usually goes after the military, not the civilians)

All americans have guns correct?
You could easily outnumber and defeat any invading force anyway.

I have a three-wheeled bike and a water gun, does that count?

Cooperate with the foreign country my ass. I say try to assist your country. After all, it's the place you've lived in all your life. It's about time you did it a favor. :P

Should? Probably Cooperate with invading forces or flee.
In reality, I'd probably be in the process of hiding weapons, radios, medical supplies in order to keep them from being confisicated, whilst at the same time laying low. No rambo-esque BS, Civilians fighting against the front lines of any army ballsy and/or powerful enough to invade the U.S. and start a ground war would have no problem with civilians armed with hunting rifles, handguns, and IED's (in effect).

Having a gun and knowing how to use a gun are two completely different things.

Either way, somebody is going to die.

Tons of people are going to die.
