When I was in band class in elementary school and middle school, I played the alto sax, and I hated it and dropped out of band. Now that I've grown up, I totally regret dropping the sax. Here are some great licks that come to mind: Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty, skip to :22 in the vid for the sax Harden my Heart by Quarter Flash Us and Them by Pink Floyd Rio by Duran Duran, Skip to 2:55 for the sax solo Careless Whisper (Never Gonna Dance Again) by George Michael And just for good measure: The Sexy Sax Man Any ones I miss? |

Ha Ha I wish, I stuck with bass after I dropped the sax, though I still think I might remember a thing or two about the Alto Sax. Its been years since I've played one though. |

Nice, a good friend plays the bass too. What I love about the sax is the feeling you can put into the music that I really can't find in most other instruments. Jungleland Clarence Clemons Solo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e4-20tqC4A&feature=related |

The sax definitely has a lot more feel to it than other woodwind and brass instruments. I mean every time a sax solo comes up its always emotional and heartfelt, and by law should always be played in tandem with a smoke machine and ray ban wayfarers |
