So... as some of you may remember.. last year at this time I went through 4 months of hell from April 22nd, 2010 to August 23rd, 2010. On August 23rd, I got the love of my life... well, 295 days later on June 14, 2011, I got broken up with because I didn't want my girlfriend hanging out with her ex who kept trying to get her to dump me...

So, if anyone can offer some moral support... I would appreciate it.

Don't do it, Nishmo! It has those drugs in them that make you "happy!"

Tough luck man. Sounds like another case of an ex getting in the way. Keep looking, they say that there's a girl for everyone

I know a guy that was in a similar situation, except his ex was a 1st class, Grade A, psychotic b*tch. It took him awhile, but he got over it and is now engaged to another woman.

Trust me, it is best not to dwell on it. Go out and hang out with friends when it really seems to be hanging down on you.

+1 !!!!!! :P

But um... what? What kind of reason is that to break up with your girl friend? If she can't recognize the negative (if indeed they are negative and not just from your point of view) effects of her Ex, then there's obviously something wrong. You haven't really explained much, nor are you obliged to, but as it is, the whole situation kinda seems nonsensical at the moment.

He said he got broken up with. It sounds to me like he voiced his concerns about her hanging out with an ex who was encouraging a breakup, and she broke up with him. (I can see both sides to this; it can be disheartening to not feel trusted by your boyfriend, BUT he had good reason to voice objection here if the ex was encouraging a breakup).

ETA: I'm sorry to hear this, Nishmo. It's one of those things that sometimes goes out of your control. You'll be able to move on from this a stronger person- and that may sound cliche, but it's true.
