Why Toe says "Thanks for Watching" Twice; The Story Behind the Legend!

As always folks, thank you very much for watching and please tune in to the next episode. Thanks for watching folks!

Alright...maybe it's not that exciting, but it is a question that I often get, and to be honest, I'm even fuzzy on its origins. From what I remember, I believe it started almost like a subconscious thing. I generally thanked viewers for watching and asked them to tune in to the next, then I think I just babbled out again the thank you. I do remember getting some comments on it asking why I did it twice, and I don't think I even noticed that I did.

To be honest, I do it now for a couple reasons. Number one, tradition. It's kind of my 'sign out' that comes at the end of nearly all of my videos. The other reason I enjoy it is just finding a good rage comment now and then yelling at me for saying it twice. IT'S REALLY ANNOYING! WHY DO YOU SAY IT TWICE?! Because I can :3

Ultimately, I think it really was just an evolution. I haven't really traced back in my videos as to when I said it as a regular thing, but it is here to stay :) I actually find it almost awkward to not thank twice at the end. A few times I find myself stumbling over words or making little sense when that tradition is broken.

I notice a lot of LPers do similar things though that are silly. People will introduce themselves in a video, (I know Raocow starts every video with, "Hey there everyone, this is Raocow playing ___________, and I know other LPers who do similar). There's no reason to really do that as everyone knows who you are. They clicked the video with your name. Still though, it's just become part of the tradition that remains.

_____________________________________________

TL:DR

I'm not sure, and no, I won't stop doing it :D

As always folks, thank you very much for reading and please check out my next post. Thanks for reading folks!

People have their intros and outros and you know what I find odd? They say it EXACTLY the same way every single time! Same pitch, same lenght, everything exactly the same as the last time they said it. At the same time....you come to expect that outro. Many times I find myself saying the into/outro of my favorite lpers together with the video, and if it has changed I get confused and lose my train of thought :P

Hi there,

It's yer thing, Toegoff. Everybody has their opening move and their finishing move, and you being incredibly thankful is a really great one. Actually, I only have one complaint re: your LP's, but it's also part of your deal, so I'll just keep quiet. :)
Have a great weekend!

Somebody should make a mash-up of everytime Toegoff says his greeting.

It really does just become a habit over time, even if it is inane. Monstarcookie is right, too; LPers who have their greetings tend to say it exactly the same way every time. ( I even checked with mine, and yes, I do it too. XD)

Actually, a mash-up of every Toegoff laugh (from the IWBTG and Castlevania LP's) might be more interesting. Have a great evening! :)

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Anyway, that death idea's not bad, but throw in the Ser Cauthrien bits as well. At one point The Man says 'Yeah, we got two guards again and where's the - oh, there's the stun. <musically> Thank you!' The funniest part of that whole video is right there.
