Woof Woof Woofies!
:D I've wanted to make a poem thread for a while now and this thread is basically a place to share poems whether you've written them or not so that everyone can share and enjoy them.

This is one I wrote a while ago.

I am the tide that will shift and change,
I am the mountain growing with age,
I am as varying as a cliff range,
The gentle breeze; yet filled with rage,
I am the howling in the shadows,
I am the vanishing eyes,
I am what cannot be explained,
My truths as numerous as my lies,
I know what I am,
I know what I'll be,
I am the circle and the circle is me.

What do you do with a drunken sailor?
What do you do with a drunken sailor?
What do you do with a drunken sailor?
early in the morning?

String him up don't let it go limp!
String him up don't let it go limp!
String him up don't let it go limp!
Drunken in the morning!

All the eyes are upon him!
All the eyes are upon him!
All the eyes are upon him!
Drunkard of the morning!

Tommorrow there will be a new one!
Later there will be a new one!
Sooner there will be a new one!
Drunkards of the boatyard!

Couldn't remember the real words

That sounds more like an Irish drinking song than a poem...

Songs are poetry with music, and its scottish, its from the colonial times when Scotland became one of the main suppliers of ships to the British Empire.

Interesting. Now go sober up.

If I was sober you would not be so witty
If I was drunk I might not be so violent
If I was sober I might buy you a drink
If I was drunk I might buy you five
So what should I be if for friendship I strive?

I need to think of a good poem

Me too. Instead of a two minute in the making ramble.

A poem I REALLY like.

What is your life?
My honour is my life.
What is your fate?
My duty is my fate.
What is your fear?
My fear is to fail.
What is your reward?
My salvation is my reward.
What is your craft?
My craft is death.
What is your pledge?
My pledge is eternal service

There is nothing in the shadows
Not that there wasn't in the light
Its the same all the time
Nothing new appears
Nothing goes away either
The eyes are always there
They never blink or cringe
They never arrived
They never leave
They simply are and will be
They watch us all
But they will not take you
They watch for the hand
Descending from the palest of light
It comes to us all in time
It removes our soul and eats its shine
It is not death that watches us
But it is what comes

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Lets try something simplier.

The tree sheds leaves not to die but to change
As now my body sheds its flesh
Not to die, but to change to dust.
