You're making this harder than it needs to be, lol. You still give too much of a fuck. She's just a girl. She farts, eats, sleeps and has her insecurities - just like we all do. She's no goddess.

There's always also the chance that she's having these same thoughts about you too. Men and women are both humans, after all.

Oh Chris. You'll have plenty of time to put her on a pedestal later. For now, just keep cool and calm and ask her how her day's been, find out a little more about what she does. Find some common ground, take it easy. The next time you see her, apologize if she did feel a little unnerved the last time. She might not have even noticed. Like Zyan said, she's as human as you are.

Oh man, speaking of work, a co-worker is taking a leave of absence and my boss called me in and asked if I would take over some of the work he did, this means I'm going to be in contact with you know who, god help me.

I talked to her today, work related but she seemed super nice, and now knows who I am, so pumped lol.

I even made her laugh a bit, and my heart rate wasnt all jacked up, I was pretty cool and looked sharp and didnt linger around, win in my book,

There you go, Chris. Just take it easy. Are you still going to be working with her like you mentioned before?

Yeah we'll be in contact more for sure, I'm just happy we can be on like a first name basis now, it'll be a lot easier to talk to her.

Be sure to keep us in the loop, Chris. Something more may come of this but for now, just enjoy the journey.

That's something that botherd me. The fact that people don't use first names. In sweden you always use first names unless your meeting some dignity. I might have problems going abroad.

Same here in Denmark. Don't think I've ever used a person's last name to address someone here. You only see that in old danish movies, when people talk to their supervisor or something. Today it would just sound weird and almost disrespectful. I barely know the last name of most of the people i know.

I suspect that folks on this side of the pond use the last name as a way to keep a respectful distance. As soon as you start using somebody's first name it's like you've become a little closer. I couldn't see myself using someone's first name if I had just met them. I've started using first names at work but I've known those people over several years. Of course, that just could be part of the school system, where all the staff are supposed to be known by their last names.

in our school the staff is known and addressed by their first name by teachers and students alike....it's like that all the way from daycare to university

Same here. People here use the surname only when shit gets serious.
