Sam did you read the books? If so I kinda get what you're saying. I'm just kinda bummed they dropped the whole Tysha subplot for Tyrion, in the books its a HUGE part of his backstory, and I'm a little miffed they cut it. I really just don't know what to make of this season. The part of the book that it's based on is spectacular, but I felt the shows execution of some key book plot elements was somewhat underwhelming. I kinda get why they did what they did, but I dunno, I guess we just have to see how it all plays out.

I really was looking forward to "Cersei's fucking Lancel and Osmund Kettleblack and moonboy for all I know!" Damn, Tyrions such a boss.

Overall, I thought this season was pretty mediocre, overall actually. It has some very good scenes, but all in all, nothing it does really lives up to the other seasons, so...

I can honestly say it didn't really live up to the books imo. The mountain vs the viper was okay, everything else kinda sucked or was changed. I was kinda let down, and I don't really think my expectations were that high tbh. The show changed a ton of things, and I'm pretty lukewarm on most of it.

TL;DR: I'm mad about how differently the show played out from the books. I thought the books did it better and the show should've followed them.

Then again, at this point the series is probably it's own canon (much like Harry Potter, for instance), especially seeing how GRRM hasn't finished the books yet, and so the series will have to keep on going with original writing.

Yup. There's probably going to be a good amount of non-book stuff in this next season. While GRRM has his own canon, it'll be interesting to how closely he follows the show, because there's no way he gets the next book out before season 5. There's also a huge change he doesn't get it out before season 6, he's that slow.

Never did I think we would be sitting here talking about how the show is going to surpass the books. Wow.

And what if Book 6 is kind of a let-down like book 5 was? What if it's so massive that nothing actually happens?

I mean holy s**t this series will probably outlive GRRM.

Also, I really hope Aegon VI Targaryen is the real deal.

Right?!

Thank God someone else noticed. Her scenes were so bad this year it's not even funny. In retrospect Dany's portions really just nuked the season for me. Just about every nuance of every one of her scenes was cringe-worthy.

Good God.
