The bone parade thing is the only thing I didn't like about episode 2 of Sakurako-san. It was cool in the first episode, but I don't want it to happen every single time she goes into detective mode. |

Yup, but I kinda expected it to happen, so. Although, I was hoping that it would at least change each time to match "the scene" so to speak, but I guess that's not a thing. |

Finished watching JoJo the other day (first season), and holy shit it's so good. How it manages to be serious, and yet not serious at the same time makes it absolutely hilarious, tbh. Probably gonna watch Stardust Crusaders in the coming weeks. 9/10 |

Dance with Devils- So at least 1 song per episode. And so far, still no REAL clue as to what happened to the mother. But older brother has entered the picture, and along with the student council president (and her best friend who may or may not know some stuff) are the only people who actually looking out for the MC's safety and best interest. Still not clear if the student council are devils or vampires. Been incredibly vague on that point so far. But for a reverse harem, it's not bad. Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru- Another good one. And once again, the only thing detracting from this series is that Bone Parade thing. It's really not necessary. Aside from that, probably one of the best shows this season. Still, Sakurako's bone obsession is a bit off putting at times. It's one thing to not be bothered by dead bodies, but another to want to collect the bones. |

For anyone that haven't watched Natsume Yuujinchiro, i highly recomend it, it's easily top 5 if not my favorite SOL series. It's all warm and cuddly with a nice and well thought story. The art is simplistic but it fits the theme and i would't have it any other way. 10/!0 for all seasons. |

Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru episode 4- I've said it before and I'll say it again, I hate cliff hangers! But awesome show and no bone parade! Will be interesting to see which way the next episode goes. |

@dave @leth On Fate/Zero, Psycho-Pass. I was told you guys suck for recommending that anime, that it's not very good and that it's actually Death Note that I need to watch (which I will shit all over, as well, whenever I get the chance to watch it, but that's another topic). Obviously, I can't pass up the chance to let you guys know that you're terrible

Who in their right mind thinks Death Note is amazing, but thinks Fate/Zero and Psycho-Pass are bad? ._. |

People who hate Urobuchi, probably... There's also the fact that Death Note is a lot more "anime" than either F/Z or PP, and this is Reptile we're talking about... |

A few episodes in, Death Note seems to actually be watchable... Huh, you guys do suck, whaddya know... Mind you, I'm not saying it's good, it's just that it's not godawful. It's been getting progressively worse, but at this point I'm more willing to put up with it, since I'm already a few episodes in. I now get this reference. Woo. Also, *facepalm* Edited by ReptilePZ, Nov 11 2015, 10:23 AM.

I mean... Let's just say there's a very legit reason I didn't recommend Death Note specifically. On this topic though, I am really confused by so-called "entry level anime". I mean, most of the time when somebody completely new to anime asks for good starters, what do they end up with? From my experience, it's shows like Death Note and FMA. Everyone actively avoids recommending long-running shounens, because you know, watching 700 episodes of something is not exactly entry-level stuff, but why is it that something like Death Note or FMA is considered entry-level, and something like Psycho-Pass isn't? The logical thing, in my opinion, is that an entry-level series would be as little "anime" as possible. No over-the-top tropes, most likely not a SOL-show, not much (if any) ecchi stuff, and few references (obviously something like Gintama doesn't fit). But that's not what the general consensus seems to be. I mean yeah, FMA is pretty close to western shows such as Avatar, but Avatar was inspired by anime, and FMA is still a lot more of that than Avatar is. So basically, two questions to the regulars of this thread: 1. Ignoring what I said above, you get to recommend one entry-level anime. Which is it? 2. Why do you think the above is how it is, and not how it logically should be? And for Reptile, do explain just what you find better in Death Note, because I really am curious (although obviously I can see how an hour long exposition episode would drop the tension factor by a bit). |

Well, DN started off really poorly. Like, really. Psycho-pass and F/Z, on the other hand, both had really strong starts before turning into just another anime. So, they were interesting at first but I could quickly see where things were going, as they reverted back to being an anime. DN, like I said, was prettttty bad at the start (angsty teen gets some power or w/e, anime-style OTT animations for when he was writing shit in that notebook etc.), but once I hit episode 4-5 (which is when I usually give up), it started having more moments that are closer to what I'd expect from a TV show (plot-, style- and pacing-wise), not an anime, so I was willing to keep watching. That carried on til ep 10 or so, when he goes to uni. At this point, it's getting bad again, but I'm a good way in, and it's a short series, so I'll probably keep watching just to see it through. So, I guess, DN just does a good job of pretending not to be an anime when it matters. And it's short enough for me to be more willing to get to the end. Edited by ReptilePZ, Nov 12 2015, 05:18 AM.

Reply to Robin since i forgot to quote him like a noob. For me, it was the complete opposite. I started with Bleach, Naruto and One Piece, i found they really fun and could easily recommend them to people well not One piece since it's shit now. There are shows as breaking bad and game of thrones that are long and still hold a high viewer count so why can't you watch a long anime. The whole why, some recommend certain shows are more of preference and what they where recommended when they first started out, though for me i would recommend SOL shows since they are what i find most fun to watch and have nothing to do with starting point for someone new. As whats logical for me to recommend, The complete opposite, The full blast up the ass anime you can get we want a SOL then a Shounen and then some Seinen since seinen are about retarded people. Why? Simply because at some point you stumble across these things and it's like everything else, you want a good example of what a thing CAN be but not what it always is. Ignoring everything i'd straight up recommend Barakamon since it's THE SOl SHOW and it can't be disputed. Then probably something like Attack on titan. Conventional anime, maybe, but they are good representations of what anime can be and is. Edited by Pong, Nov 12 2015, 05:51 AM.
