There's always: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - Basically FMA but more dedicated to the manga and has a more serious tone, I guess. Sword Art Online - similar to Hack Sign, mostly due what they're based off of. Ouran Highschool Host Club - similar to Fruits Basket Soul Eater - Pretty good up until last episode, seems similarish to Fairy Tail with the comedy style and combat. |

Well, considering you saw Fullmetal Alchemist, I can pretty much guarantee you'll like FMA: Brotherhood. The beginning is pretty much the same as the original anime, but it becomes completely different fairly soon. Brotherhood is better than FMA for me. For Fruit Basket, I'm not entirely sure but you might want to check out Clannad and Clannad After Story, Kanon (2006) and Air TV. For .hack//Sign, then Sword Art Online and Accel World. For Fairy Tail, IIRC it's the standard shounen, so pretty much any shounen anime will do. One Piece, Bleach, Ao no Exorcist, etc. Cause seriously, shounen animes are all the same. If you're open to variety, here are animes that I've loved. Monster (Thriller, Mystery, Drama, Psychological) One of the most developped plot I've seen in animes so far. A must-see in my book. Mirai Nikki (Drama, Psychological, Horror, Romance) Pretty bloody and violent, but nothing overly gory. And it has a very strong plot and characters. Black Lagoon (Action, Adventure, Black Comedy) Hard to describe. Pure mindless gunfights which defy physics for shit and giggles. Characters are awesome. AnoHana (Drama, Supernatural, Tragedy) This is sad. A must-see in my book. Angel Beats! (Fantasy, Comedy, Drama) It's Angel Beats... It's funny, it's sad. Just watch it, it's awesome. NHK ni Youkoso! (Black Comedy, Drama) Not sure what to say. It's pretty realistic, it's got a good balance of comedy and drama. One of my favorites. Death Note (Mystery, Thriller, Dark Fantasy) A cat-and-mouse mind game. Pretty amazing plot. Shakugan no Shana (Fantasy, Action, Romance) First season is good, second season is alright, third season is awful. Toradora! (Drama, Romantic Comedy) One of my favorites. Eden of the East (including the 2 movies) (Comedy, Drama, bits of Romance here and there) This series is basically a more lighthearted and violence-free version of Mirai Nikki. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (including the movie) (Comedy, Fantasy) The series is not bad, but the best point for me was the movie. (Then, there's Steins;Gate, but you don't want sci-fi stuff. Still though, it's one of my favorites.) Other anime series worth checking out. Black Rock Shooter Durarara!! Baccano! Fate/Zero Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! Btooom! Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Tegami Bachi Shinseikai Yori (and a lot more, but at this point, there's gonna be just too many animes for you to choose from...) If you're into anime movies, I recommend pretty much every movie Miyazaki made and Grave of the Fireflies. I haven't watched a whole lot of anime movies, but Kawjene has. So if he ever shows up, you should ask him. edit : Also http://myanimelist.net/topanime.php?type=tv http://myanimelist.net/topanime.php?type=movie Might help you find awesome animes. I can back up Tien by saying that among my favorites aswell, are; Angel Beats - Funny, sad, and awesome. To Aru Kagaku no Railgun - About a group of friends living in a city of espers. Seriously one of my favorites. Sword Art Online - Like Hack Sign (I think). People are stuck in a game and so on. Also, Silica <3 Black Rock Shooter - I personally think this is awesome, but a lot of people seem to disagree. It has a fantastic artstyle and a decent story. Btooom! - A battle royale fought with grenades, based on a video game (from the manga). Mirai Nikki - Like Tien said, it's rather violent at times, but awesome nonetheless. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Again, like Tien said, while the series is pretty good, the movie is a must! Also, Nagato <3 |

Brotherhood is a reboot of the series. While the first anime followed the manga for a short while, Bortherhood follows it all the way through. They both start very similarly, as FMA did follow the manga at the beginning. So for a while, it's basically the same things happening. But somewhere around episode 15, there are noticeable differences, though even before that there are already smaller differences (e.g. IIRC the part in that desert town I forgot the name of is more actiony in FMA than it is in BH... or it's the other way around). And after that, FMA completely changes everything, introducing new characters, an original plot, as well as a completely different ending. So yeah. Might be repetitive for a little while, but in the end, they are completely different series. As for which one is better, that's just a matter of opinion. Both are solid and very entertaining animes, both have their qualities and their flaws. From what I've seen, most people agree on Brotherhood being superior to FMA. And I personnally tend to think so as well. |

Watched that one myself awhile back, and thought the exact same thing. It was like a M. Knight Shyamalan twist there, I'll admit that. But yeah, pretty good up until the ending where it just pulls twist after twist. Fight scenes are cool, but still. Recomendations for sin: Other than what has already been said, Ranma 1/2 (7 seasons of anime, both dubbed and subbed are available, and the manga is complete, but still hilarious) Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (currently season 2 is airing) Ah! My Goddess! A couple of seasons and a very long manga series. Negima! Master Magi (2 varient anime series that differ from a long manga, which is good but the ending leaves something to be desired) |

Watching Guilty Crown. Pretty good so far, and it seems music is a rather big part of it. Oh, and Supercell! |

If you like action, there's Samurai Champloo (A girl gets a couple wondering ronin to help her find a samurai that she's looking for, has a lot of the same people that made Cowboy Bebop). To add another, there's K-On, a cute slice of life anime. Also, a good, albeit bloody series, Deadman Wonderland. Has one of my absolute favorite opening themes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzBZU1hKIzg |

Have you guys ever got to the point in an anime where it becomes unbearably stupid? I think I've reached that point. Episode 39 of Fairy Tail is that point for me. So many plotholes, so many weird choices by the main characters, and it's so CHEEEEESY! I thought I had seen cheese with Gurren Lagann but that cheese was well done. This was... ugh. |

Every episode, the antagonist has some kind of ancient secret power that no one's ever been able to unlock. It's super powerful, and super rare. How many of those super ancient rare powers are there now? Like fifty? That's only one of the many critiques I have on that show. Yikes. T.T |

I watchd to about ep 50 and i HATE it, the combat is always the same, shittly oneliners. Have even one caracter in that series died? But what annoys me the most is that all the "bad" guys somewhow turn good once they are defeated, and not like you beat me i give up and then plan on backstabbing you. They just turn good. Like wtf, i hate you and hpoe to spred your intestants on the floor, untill the onliners comeout and the frustratingly bad combat then they are like o sowwy now i'm in love with you etc etc. Fuck that series with a log, hard and thuroghly. |
