Ok, so it was kinda bothering me that none of the shows I'm watching aired on saturdays (KnK = Wed, Kill la Kill = Thu, Log Horizon = Sat), and so I decided to start watching yet another show (cuz this is apparently what I do now). At first I was thinking of Strike the Blood, but as I looked through the season list things like Machine-doll also popped up which I honestly think looks somewhat better (I mean, I haven't seen any actual footage from either show, but y'know), but then I also realised that almost all of these air like, REALLY late on friday evenings, meaning I prob wouldn't have time to watch them during the Fridays either way, so that kinda defeats the purpose. In the end, it came down to "Samurai Flamenco" and "Golden Time", and since I wasn't sure about the "seinen rom-com" thing I decided to go with Samuenco. It's pretty cool so far. Somewhat funny, and the synopsis itself implies that it's one of those "comedic at first and then shit goes down" shows, which might happen, because of the setting and all. Also, super serious episode about finding a lost umbrella, with some kick-ass bike riding; 10/10. |

I've been watching Samurai Flamenco too and yeah, it's pretty good. I like the whole bromance thing between Hazama and Goto. The personalities complement each other well. Plus, it has my favorite opening theme for this season. |

I think for me that's KnK's OP. I also love its ED, so... Also, realised I'm a complete dumbass. When looking at the times for when the shows aired on Friday, most of them said things like "10:30 PM", so I thought that was too late... But now I realised that those are the times they air in Japan, and when I looked at Strike the Blood's page on CR, it said "Simulcast on Friday 2:00 PM" (Swedish time, that is). So yea, turns out I COULD have chosen something like Strike the Blood or Machine-doll instead... :/ EDIT: Well, turns out I'm even more of a moron now. Looking at the times for Simulcast on CR, Samurai Flamenco is Thursday... Edited by savepoints, Nov 3 2013, 07:47 AM.

Ok, so decided to start STB as well. Only watched 3 episodes so far, but it's a beautiful show, and I really like the characters, especially Yukina. Speaking of Yukina, during the first episode I really thought her voice sounded familiar, and turns out it's the same VA as Mirai from KnK, so that's something. I've also noticed that I love the take on vampires that most japanese series seem to have, where they aren't restricted by the sun, don't always have to drink blood, but are still really powerful and whatnot. Speaking of which, I think I can kinda see why it's tagged as ecchi, or rather why it will be clear later. During the first ep you just have a couple of panty shots, but there are like 3 of them, each only a second long at most, and they're there for a pretty valid reason. In episode 2, when Yukinas clothes are wet, you don't get to see her panties, and in fact you can't really see anything. But the reason I think the ecchi tag is there for is the whole "I can't get turned on now and let the beast take over" (can't remember the exact words, but something like that). So I bet that's def gon play a pretty big role in episodes to come. Kind of reminds me of how that stuff worked in Mnemosyne, too. Mnemosyne was basically filled with gore and nudity/ecchi stuff, but it was never out of place or anything. The gore was there because, well, the MCs are immortal and so their enemies have to try some pretty serious shit, and a big reason for the ecchi stuff in the show is because of how the conflict between immortal men and women are handled (unsure if I'd spoil anything if I explained it, so I just won't). But yea, STB, good show so far. |

Since I finished Day Break Illusion (it was a good and worth checking out if you like dark magical girl shows), I decided to start Little Busters. It wasn't that high on my to watch list before, but then I found out its origins. It started a visual novel made by Key, the same developer of the Clannad and Air visual novels. Not to mention one of the companies behind Angel Beats. So, I had to check this out. Only watched the first episode, but so far the characters are pretty interesting and are pretty varied. Pretty much what you'd expect from Key. The humor is solid, and I can already see the seeds of future drama being planted. The one downside is that Kyoto Animation didn't handle this one, so it doesn't look as nice as other Key projects turned anime. The animation isn't bad though, so it's not much of a draw back. |

Hmm, I was a bit unsure about that one, but I guess I'll give it a chance. Thing is, I've heard a LOT of people say it's like a "Madoka Ripoff", and I've seen non-spoiler descriptions of a lot of similarities between the show. Also funny how when looking at quick descriptions of the characters, their stories seem very familiar... >_> I mean, I love Madoka more than any other show I've seen so far, and dark shows like these are prob my favorite, but there's still the fact that it's getting quite mixed reviews, as well as a pretty meh score on MAL (6.69). Still tho, I'll give it a look, after I finish the things already on my list (Servant x Service, Shinsekai Yori, Humanity has Declined). Also, I find it funny how with all these similarities between the shows, Kitamura Eri (Miki Sayaka's VA) also voices a character in DBI. |

Anyone who says that it's a Madoka ripoff must not have seen much of the show, or believes that every magical girl show with a dark storyline is a Madoka ripoff. The latter is the main thing in my opinion why people claim that. If anything, it's closer to Lyrical Magical Girl Nanoha than Madoka. It's a much faster pace story, more action oriented than Madoka, and the main girl is a magical girl the whole way through. Plus, the main villain has no similarities to Kyubey. The lesser villains are similar to witches, but that's pretty much the only similarity the two share. |

So, I just watched Mars of Destruction. I have to say, this is probably one of the funniest, yet most though-provoking shows I've seen so far. The questions it poses really leave you with your jaw dropped after you finish, and it'll make you rethink your life quite a bit. I had to watch it in 240p, but I could tell that they put a lot of time into the art, as it was absolutely gorgeous. The animations were also really good. Story is very fast paced, but still pretty good. There wasn't really as much character development as I would've liked, but when you have VA's like Chihara Minori, who cares about the other characters, really? A word of advice tho. The show was pretty graphic at times (dat decap yo), so if something like Elfen Lied or Mnemosyne turned you off, then you might not like this. Overall tho, very good show, 8/10, would watch again. |

I was bored so I started watching Golden Time. As it turns out, it's the anime that I'm going to regret prematurely starting for this season, because it's well on its way to become one of my favorites and I have to wait every week to have a new episode, so I hate myself now. I shouldn't have done that, but the previous disappointment of that mental choice guy show made me lose my determination and since I've got a thing for amnesia, I gave in. So yeah. Long story short, after the first 6 episodes, I'm in love with this show. It's funny and the drama doesn't start 12 episodes in, which is a good thing. The pace is pretty fast too for a 24-episode series, which can be good or bad depending on what they do next. Hopefully, it won't go downhill because they went over things too quickly so they start throwing random stuff to fill in the last episodes. Now I'm going to put myself into a coma so I can wake up in 4 months and finish this show... Jesus, just realized I have to wait until the end of February... |

SO like. I finished OreImo and it was really good, until the end. The end of season 2 so THE END was really fucking weird and well, threw me off it annoyed the living hell out of me and was unorthodox to say the least but w/e. Knowing the end, maybe it's worth watching. Shitty start Really fucking good center and then some not my taste end. 2/10 start 8-9/10 core and WTF/10 ending. Should you watch it, can't say to be honest. Only show i'd advice to look at the ending before starting. Spoiler: click to toggle

Ok, so I haven't seen it (yet), so feel free to correct me if I'm totally wrong but... Isn't there like hints (and rather obvious ones) to the ending throughout the entire show? I mean, from what I've heard, the MC might even say it, and it's very prominent in the episodes, and then you have the title of the show itself... So yea, what I mean is that I don't see how this is a huge surprise to people, really <.< Guess you might still consider it a pretty shitty ending after you've seen the show, tho. |
