Hate to say it, but I'm starting to have a hard time staying interested in KnK. The animation is beautiful, the world lore is generally good, but the characters are just... I don't know, kinda meh. I can't say I dislike any of the characters, but none of them really stand out to me either. Regardless of the medium, my favorite stories will depend on the characters. Even if the plot is cliche, I can still love an anime if I find a character to latch onto and get invested in.

The other current anime that I'm watching all have that - Kill La Kill has Ryuko and Mako; Samurai Flamenco has Masayoshi; Little Busters has Rin, Kyousuke, and Yuiko; Strike the Blood has Kojo; even Noucome has Kanade and Oka -, but I can't seem to find that in KnK.

I can kinda see that, as a lot of characters seem to be pretty "standard". I mean, Mirai is moe as hell, Mitsuki is your standard tsun, basically, and like, all of the male characters seem to be there for mostly comic relief in the form of their fetishes (tho Akihito also pulls off some "super awesome mc" moves, but w/e).
Still tho, I'm pretty sure that at this point I would keep watching, and continue loving it if they went for a more lighthearted approach (like last ep), instead of going back to the more serious tone of the first episodes, since as a lot of people have said they think it'll be hard to go back to that now (also since it seems like now Mirai doesn't really have anything to fight for, except for paying the rent).

I think if they really wanted a darker and more serious story, they should've stuck to the original content, without changing it the way they did.

On the other hand, I'm really loving Strike the Blood, Kill la Kill is still as awesome as I expected, and Log Horizon still has no real storyline...

Yeah, I plan on sticking with it. It's still a good show overall. The animation alone make it worth keeping an eye on. It's just not going to be as interesting as I hoped.

My best guess would be that humans with powers likely have some monster or witch blood in them. Or humans are capable to higher abilities but only with a lot of training and/or practice.

I can't help but feel like some serious shit is gonna go down in Samuenco sooner or later... Especially seeing how the show is 22 episodes long, and it kinda feels like they can't stick to what they're currently doing for too long...

I agree. If this was the standard 13 episode series, I could see it staying as it is, but at that length... something is gonna happen. I wouldn't be surprised if they took a depressing turn. Used all the light hearted comedy to get you attached to the main characters, then one dies.

Actually, I'd bet that it'd be Samurai Flamenco himself that dies, saving someone. Rather than just being an oddity or known for stopping small crimes, he ends up being remembered a true hero because of that. If they do take that route... the final episode is going to be really, really depressing.

New PV for Pupa, and seems like it'll be airing early January on TokyoTV and NicoNico (and apparently also CR(?))

Let's just say Samurai Flamenco just had one of the most wtf plot twists I've ever seen... I can't even begin to comprehend this shit...
