Zetsuen no Tempest is really good so far. Finished the first arc and there were more mind fucks in four episodes than there were in all of some other shows I've watched. Also, dat Shakespeare. |

Finished Zetsuen no Tempest. 9/10, was a really good show with some minor flaws in it. The second arc felt weaker than the first, and A LOT more focused on love instead of revenge, which was interesting. Still, wasn't bad. I'd recommend anyone to watch it. |

OK, so I just decided to start a few other shows from this season, so here are my thoughts on those... To start off, I saw that CR had picked up an ONA called "Wonder Momo". Now, this is apparently based on some old side-scroller beat-em-up japanese arcade game, and in short, it's just horrible. Each episode is only 7 minutes long, but it's super fast-paced, the voice acting is horrible, it kinda tries to be funny in a sense, but it's not because at the same time it kinda tries to take itself seriously... Idk, I'll give it a couple of episodes (then again, since it's so short, I kinda don't think it's even worth dropping). Next up was Pupa... What to say about this...? I... don't even know... Basically, they try to be all psycho and horror with a lot of gore and shit, but it's just not working, and since each ep is only 4 minutes long (in total), it's not getting ANYWHERE! Last one was Nobunagun, which was far better than any of the other two. I like the art and concept of it, but the start's kinda slow, so we'll see how it is once I get further into the show. |

Hamatora has surprised me with how good its turning out. Moral has a ton of potential to become a great villain. As for Samurai Flamenco, I think it's worth it to keep watching. It's remained consistently good even if the story likes having twists a bit too much. I do like that there's pretty much no filler. It jumps straight from one story arc to the next. |

Kill la Kill: DAT TWIST! WHAT IS THIS? Log Horizon: Well, even though I already knew this would happen, it was really, really sad anyway... Mahou Sensou: Now it's just dumb. Dumb and bad. Nobunaga the Fool: I thought this one was good. At first it's sort of hard to follow, imo, because so many things happen without explanation, and so many characters are introduced, but that problem quickly resolved itself. One thing I like a lot about this is that the MC (Nobunaga) isn't actually a big wuss at any point, really. That's not to say he won't react emotionally to the things that happen, but he's not being an undecisive coward just for the sake of it. Nobunagun: Really liking this one. It's progressing nicely, but I do have some problems with it. First of all, for some reason the audio isn't normalized AT ALL. Explosions, shots, and various other effects are WAY louder than dialog or music, which obv is a problem. The other problem (as minor as it may be, and it'll be "resolved" later on), is the fact that out of all the E-gene holders we've seen, only three of them are really offensive-focused. Just seems kinda weird to me that when they're the only ones who can kill the EIOs 90% of them would focus on defense and support. I also think it's kind of interesting that the main characters are reincarnations of much more famous people than the secondary characters (Isaac Newton and even Nobunaga are obviously much more famous than say, Gaudi or Cyx). I think this is one of those shows you may find even better if you're actually familiar with all the people they characters are based on (I had to look up Gaudi and Cyx, for example). Samurai Flamenco: so... This show went from pretty casual SOL stuff, to supernatural superhero stuff, to power rangers, to some sort of transformers inspired thing (I've never actually seen Power Rangers, so I don't know if there's something like that giant robot in there, but I guess that might actually be where it's from). It's really noticable (not just from this, but also the way the bad guys act and introduce themselves and their plans), that this is really influenced by tv shows. I obviously don't meant that in the normal way, but it's kinda hard to explain... It's like you're watching a show where they want you to feel like you're watching a tv-show while watching their tv-show... That makes absolutely no sense, but it's pretty much the only way I can describe how this show feels. All I know is, at this point there's absolutely no point in trying to predict what's going to happen next... Strike the Blood: So now we might actually soon be rid of the whole "gotta keep it secret for no reason" shit, which would remove a ton of the stupid shit from this show? Yea, like that's gonna happen... Witch Craft Works: Only 5 episodes in on this one, but so far, this is probably my second favorite of the season (after Noragami). A lot of it reminds me of Shakugan no Shana, but it's also different enough to be it's own thing, so to speak. Imo, it's actually pretty funny (without relying on overdone tsunderes, overusing sex jokes, or just the common "misconceptions"), the fighting is rather cool, especially since they've managed to make Kagari so powerful without it being stupid, like some other shows (Index...). I also think it'll be interesting to see how whatever story they come up with progresses, and to actually learn more about his "white stuff"... Edited by savepoints, Feb 12 2014, 12:27 PM.

Yeah, actually started reading Witchcraft Works well before it came out as anime, it's good, but so slow to get translated. A lot of people inaccurately assume it's another harem series, it's not. His sister does have a major brother complex, but that's about it. But it is good, animation is really good, and gotta love that comedy. Though, still weird that people who were their enemies not 5 minutes prior end up becoming, uh, unaggressive to the good guys, if not near friendly. Just weird. |

My guess for this is that they've realised just how powerful Kagari actually is. As far as they're aware, she's unbeatable (even without her master), and it might just be that they kinda gave up until they come up with a new master plan. Then there's also the fact that all of those Tower Witches are... Spoiler: click to toggle
