![]() Summary of the latest episode of Black Bullet. ANYWAYS, onto updates on what I have been watching. Bakemonogatari - 9/10 Finished it, was REALLY good. I really like what they did with the last arc (Cat arc), and have started Nisemonogatari. Still looks as promising as it has been. Nisekoi - Since it finished, I decided it was time to start watching it. Took me a while to get through the first episode, because I have a habit at pausing at really awkward scenes (There seems to be a lot of them in this show, like many other romcoms), but it seems pretty good so far. Will get onto more whenever I feel like it. And then my opinions on airing shows haven't really changed, except for I really like what Mekakucity Actors is doing. |

Finished Kimi ni todoke, it was good, but i always get frustrated by the slow pace of those kind of shows, and how most of the people in them are slightly retarded, but i guess everyone is that when you are 15-16. 7-8/10 since i'm a sucker for those kinds of shows. Bakuman after leaving it with the last 2 episodes for 2 months. It's a 9, not so much for the art but rather the concept and execution. Edit 2: I'm getting annoyed by the loli's in that show. Just a heads-up. There's a lot more fanservice in Nise. In fact it's the season with the most fanservice in the entire series, which is one of the reasons why it is often regarded as the least good. They toned it down significantly in Monogatari S2 though, to the point that I think Bake might have more. After Nise, I suggest you watch Nekomonogatari first (prequel of Bake) before watching Monogatari S2. It's 4 episodes so it's pretty short. Otherwise, you'll miss some backstory on the cat thing, which is the focus of the first arc in S2. Edited by Tiennou, May 27 2014, 10:09 PM.

Bakuman, although not the best art, was still really well done. Good characters, good story, and gave an idea of what manga artists actually go through. Fun fact about Eiji Nizuma from the series, he's based on Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece (who is also noted to be a bit eccentric himself, in regards to Japanese people). Kimi ni Todoke, yeah, I was a suckker for it too. Good series, and I think everyone who watched the final episode said to themselves "Finally!" Had some humor, some drama (some of which I can see, some of which was typical romcom retardation of characters), but it was nice having a female MC that wasn't tsundere. All that said, is this thread strictly for Japanese series, or can we include Western Animated series as well? Just want to be sure. |

I noticed. Already finished the Bee arc in Nise, lots of it... They sat in a washroom for an entire episode just cleaning and talking. And didn't they already do the cat thing at the end of Bake? |

The forum itself was originally wanted as a place to host the WAD (but certain things changed how that ended up), and at the same time we moved the old anime thread here as well (becoming this thread), and that's why it's the anime section, because when things like these were discussed in spam and all, it was almost exclusively anime. However, if you have western shows you want to talk about (and feel like spam is too "non-focused", and creating new threads in chat section is stupid and redundant), then we could surely make some changes. I guess we either: 1. Allow general discussion on western animation. This is the best if you're not gonna talk a lot about the same series and all, I guess. If you just want to mention that you found something good (maybe you just found out about Adventure Time, and want to mention it to us and talk about it shortly), as opposed to talking about something at length (see the Legend of Korra thread). 2. Create new thread (can pin it as well), made specifically for talking about western shows. This is more useful if there's gonna be a lot of talk about some shows, since you may feel that it "clutters" up this thread. 3. Create separate threads for western shows. This assumes that you'll talk in depth about a few shows, and not short about multiple ones (this is probably the worst option). Get back to me on this, and I'll put up a poll or something, I guess, and we'll see. I mean, in all technicality, western animation is the same thing, just that it's "western anime" (anime = animation and all). On the topic of WAD, I've decided to put in another change for that. New discussion polls will now only go up once some sort of comment has been made in the previous threads. Doing this, we don't end up with a bunch of threads about shows that nobody watched (even tho they were voted for), and we avoid cluttering the forum. Perhaps, if the only comment in the thread is something along the lines of "not too interested in this, won't watch", and nothing else, I might put up a new poll to get things going again. Nekomonogatari is backstory and all on that. In other news, have been having some trouble catching up to all the shows since I got really behind while moving, so I'll probably end up dropping a few shows I originally didn't think I'd drop. This probably includes: Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? Captain Earth Sidonia no Kishi (might not even give this 3 ep) and then maybe M3. It's rated pretty low, which is a bad sign, but I've also only seen 1 episode, so I'll get back on that. Edited by savepoints, May 28 2014, 09:15 AM.

There's more of it in the first arc of S2. And like Dave said, Neko is some backstory, namely what happened the first time the cat showed up. |

Pulled an "erased from existance" card out from no where. Genuinely surprised, and wondering how it turns out. |

What the... THEY CAN'T END AN EPISODE LIKE THAT! SHIT! Seriously though, that completely turns the series around (for the next few episodes, probably)... In other news, finished Tonari no Seki-kun. Was an ok gag-show, but there are better ones out there, but still a solid 7/10. At the same time, I've decided to drop Captain Earth at 3 episodes. Earlier I wasn't sure if I was gonna keep watching or not, so I decided not to drop it at that point, because I sort of liked the characters, and the mecha-part of it hadn't really done anything bad yet, but now I've more or less lost all interest in picking it up again, something that a few good characters could change. So, dropped at episode 3, with a score of 7/10. Also dropped Sidonia no Kishi, at 1 episode. Yes, I didn't even bother giving it 3 episodes. The first episode, together with the long break I had, completely took away the incredibly little interest in this show. The shoddy CGI animation, the boring plot, and the uninteresting characters just makes this bad, yo. 5/10. Edited by savepoints, May 29 2014, 07:50 AM.

Aniplex has released a trailer for the official Kill La Kill dub: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLhE2EhuoZ8 For the most part, I think they did a great job with the voices. They match the characters pretty well, especially Mako, Uza, and Nonon. Senketsu is really the only questionable one, but I'll wait to see more before judging his too much. |

The only shows I want to watch right now are the ones that are currently airing... and I've already caught up on all the ones I care about. |

On the whole western animation thing, I was just thinking that we could just throw it into this thread like we do with the Japanese ones. It's not like the thread title says it is strictly about Japanese animations, I just wanted to know if it was alright with others in this thread is all. |

Will do! That said, anybody watched Young Justice? Made by the same guy who did Gargoyles back in the 90s. Basically, about the sidekicks of the Justice League coming together and forming their own team that does covert operations. Has Robin (of course, the most well known of any sidekick), Aqualad, Kid Flash, Ms Martian, Superboy, and a few episodes in, Artemis (Green Arrow's sidekick). It is actually more along the lines of the Justice League series, in that it isn't geared towards younger kids, but towards older audiences. Has a darker tone, but still has good comedy to accompany it. Only ran for 2 seasons (with a time skip kind of thrown in there), but still one of the better series I've watched. |
