Chaika 2: Episode 3 impressions (7/10)

So things are getting a lot more interesting than I thought they would very early on in this season... I like the direction it's taking and hoping all of the confusing things in the show get explained at some point and aren't just left hanging like I expect them to be.

Log Horizon 2: Episode 3 Impressions (9/10)

Show is starting to pick up, they're doing a fantastic job describing the raid system and the interaction with the characters (Mostly Naotsugu and Tetra). Hope they keep up the pace and on track like the first season. The animation is also growing on me, but throws me off whenever they have a flashback to the first season with the old animation style.

Parasyte - Episode 3 impressions - (8/10):
Still loving this, and I'd still say this is my second favorite of the season, after F/SN. It's been managing to keep up everything that was good about the first episode, and just build on that to make it even better. I especially love the contrast we've been getting between Shinichi and Migi, and I'm still really interested in how the later parts of the series will play out. There are a couple small annoyances, but they are in fact pretty small. The first is that, while I like the music, they often seem to play those really intense dubstep-y songs at not so intense moments... Or well, they could be intense moments, but not in a "fight to the deat" type of way, if that makes sense. The other thing is how they're gonna handle Shinichi's relationship with Murano. This is probably gonna spawn a lot of dumb drama, which is always bad, in my opinion.

Orenchi no Furo Jijou - Dropped @ Episode 3 - (5/10):
As expected after the first episode, this continued being really mediocre, and not very funny at all, so since watching handsome men get wet isn't really a high priority in entertainment for me, then... ya...

Amagi Brilliant Park - Episode 3 Impressions - (7/10):
If I'm gonna be honest, I like this show, but I am pretty disappointed at how little the magic-part of it has been used. I mean, yes, it's still funny, and it has rather likable characters and all, but when they build up the mind-reading so much once it's introduced, you'd expect them to actually let it at least play some kind of role in the series as a whole. Granted, we're still only 3 episodes in, but that's more or less 2 episodes where it has been completely ignored, so that's a minus in my book.

Grisaia no Kaijutsu - Episode 3 Impressions - (8/10):
You know, the more I watch this, the more unsure I become whether this or Parasyte is truly the second best of the season. This series undoubtedly has some of the best characters, and definitely the best MC (but Rin still best girl). The one thing is that it's apparently only going to be 13 episodes, and seeing how it hasn't really gotten going for real, so to speak, I have these small thoughts that maybe it'll feel rushed towards the end, or alternatively, that it'll end in a really intense moment and we'll have to wait for season 2... Don't get me wrong though, I really like the whole thing they're doing with the "setup" here, in fact I could probably settle with an all-out SOL show with these characters in this setting, but since I know what type of show this will turn into, I'm really eager to see it happen.

I'm half tempted to ask where the series will go, though I do have a feeling of where it will go myself. But I am quite enjoying it, just strange seeing a SOL series with, overall, so few characters. By that, at the school, it's basically just them and what, a couple of teachers? A normal sized main cast with almost no background cast is just a little weird for me. Not bad, just weird. Still enjoy it though.

In other news, finally gave in and ordered Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki off of Amazon. Why? Because it's practically impossible to find the complete series subbed online anymore. A few years ago you could find it subbed on veoh, but not anymore. You can find the dubbed just fine, but I never could like Ryoko's dubbed voice. And Ayeka's dubbed voice isn't much better. But what I ordered has both. So win-win!

Though Tenchi-Muyo GXP (the sequel series that for the first time, doesn't actually star Tenchi, but he does make a cameo) is actually pretty good dubbed, until it does the trip to earth and we see Tenchi and the gang, with Washu's dubbed voice being cringe worthy.

Not gonna spoil anything (in fact, I don't know exactly what will happen), but here's like a 5 word summary of the route the series will take (no actual spoilers, that is).

Spoiler: click to toggle

It's kinda been foreshadowed a bit, especially in the first episode, but so far they've just been spending a lot of time on building the characters and the setting, which is really awesome, as long as they can fit all the other stuff in there.

Also, this is kinda interesting. A few days ago, I randomly stumbled upon this LN series, which I thought looked pretty cool, but it had no anime adaption. Well...

Sanzoku no Musume Ronja - Episode 3 Impressions - (7/10):
Let's be completely honest here. Is this show good? I feel like I'm very biased, because I'm familiar with the story and all, so even though the series has been pretty uneventful, I know that a lot more stuff is gonna happen, and once Ronja meets up with the dude (next episode, even) whose name I can't remember, things will really get going. However, that doesn't change that from the perspective of someone who has never heard of this tale before, it's not a very exciting series. The full-on CGI is still kinda off-putting, and the series itself is just very carefree, and to be honest, I don't really get this "Ghibli-feel" from it. Still, my personal bias makes it easier for me to look past all of this, and focus on what's happening (or what's gonna happen), so I hope they pull that off well.

Yeah, figured it would go down that route. So long as the ending has the characters come to term with their pasts in some way (like how a good story should go), I'll be fine with it.

And that LN series does look interesting. Will have to check that out when the anime comes out. Comedy, action, harem settings are on of my favorite combos out there (Negima (manga mainly, though Negima!? anime is pretty funny too), Ranma 1/2, and Tenchi Muyo being my favorite examples of this genre).

I'm completely fine with them, as long as they're not also ecchi. I mean, fanservice sucks in general, so when you need to fit it into 5 characters in every other scene, it gets annoying to the point that I don't want to watch anymore. If it is harem tho, my favorite is when it's more like "harem", where there are a lot of girls surrounding the mc, but only like one or two are candidates for the love interest, so to speak. Maybe it's because romance and rom-com overall isn't really my thing (unless really well-written into the story), so ya... The Dungeon thing doesn't seem like it'll be that from the description, but it's more the setting and all that interests me in this case, so I can take the harem as well.

In other news, not only do I have to watch Durarara now in preparation for 2015, but also Gatchaman Crowds, which had a s2 announcement recently. Busy times.

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works - Episode 3 Impressions - (9/10):
Man, oh man. It's been a really long time since I woke up any day of the week, and was really excited it was finally that day. The first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning was "finally new F/SN episode!". Too bad it airs in the evenings for me tho, not in the mornings. Anyway, the amazing production quality is still here, and this episode, where we got to see more of Archer's abilities, looked really awesome. Speaking of which, I managed to spoil a pretty major thing for myself, but I'm not gonna let that bother me when it comes to this show. Ilya is a lot creepier than I expected, so I kinda want to see more of her, just because, y'know. This remains AotS as of now, and I doubt that will have changed by the end of the season.

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Budget Works (Episode 3 Impressions) 10/10

So, ufotable has added a few new touches that weren't in the original light novel... And they're actually really good. The animation still remains the best I've ever seen, even surpassing pilot episodes of every other show in existence, and the plot still has a really nice pace to it. Still hinting back at Fate/Zero, and still showing that the two are extremely intertwined with Saber's actions. I'm really excited to see where it goes next, because now there are things that might be shown that even I won't be expecting.

Also, Illyasviel!

We need a big image tag. It would work much like the normal one, except for big pics, it would have them inside a box where, when you click on it, would show the full picture. Click on it again and it goes back to being in a minimized-like box. Handy for keeping big images like that from stretching the entire page.

And I'd love to have a spoiler tag like Reddit's, but unfortunately Zetaboards doesn't support custom BBCode (there are so called modifiers, but they're a lot of work to get working).

Note that this was only the first 3 episodes, and they'll only be available until sometime today. They did however get a deal to get the uncensored version, so they'll stream that sometime in the future.

Not into the horror genre, so, can't say I'm excited for Terraformers. My reasoning is that real life has enough horrors and drama. I watch anime to get away from that stuff. It doesn't mean I think it should be done away with as there are plenty of people who obviously enjoy it, it's just not something I have ever gotten into. That goes for non-anime horror related things as well. Though the Friday the 13th series would be the exception, as I can actually see why Jason would want to kill everyone he comes across. Kind of the sympathetic psycho slasher character, to a degree.

Well, that ending to Grisaia no Kajitsu was depressing.
