Both of them are Lelouch of the Rebellion. The seasons are labeled R1 and R2. |

Oh ok, so are Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito and Code Geass: Nunnally in Wonderland, just like extras or something?

Boukoku no Akito is the movie series they're currently making, and Nunally in Wonderland was an OVA. |

This has more to do with manga than with anime, but I'm looking for some free mangas to download to my e-reader. Does anyone know of a site or such that has them? Yes, I will pay for them if need be, but I'm cheap. Thanks and have a great day, guys. |

Started MM!, an anime about a dude who wants to cure his masochism. So he goes to some club which slogan claims that they can grant any kind of wish. Of course, the president of that club had to be an overly violent tsundere who proclaimed herself as a god. And of course, the only solution she found was to keep beating that guy until he gets tired of maso stuff, cause that makes so much sense. Not only that, but another female member of that club is scared of men. And obviously, everytime the dude gets beat up by the tsundere, he ends up flying and touching that scared girl, one way or another, who in turn, punches him. And that's pretty much it. I've got nothing against slapstick and sexual jokes... but seriously, they make up the entire series and they're always the exact same thing... Tsundere hits him, he gets horny, so she hits him harder, he flies, accidently touches scared girl who punches him. You repeat that a few times per episode. Then, you have his family. His sister wants to fuck him. His mother too cause why the heck not. The series wasn't bad enough, so let's just add incest to the mix. And then you have his only friend, who crossdresses. And there's no plot and no character development whatsoever. But well, I guess it was the point. Something like Hayate no Gotoku, but without the fun part. Not exactly the best anime ever... A bit late to the discussion but I personally like subs a lot better because I like the japanese intonations. They tend to be more over-the-top dramatic or sound a lot more "in to" the voice acting... not because they're better voice actors necessarily but that's just how the japanese / asian culture is with that kind of stuff. Going from that to english dub you get a sense of things feeling more subdued. Plus I'm a very linguistically oriented person so I like to listen to and learn languages. I've learned a handful of japanese from just watching anime with subs. It just happens very naturally if you keep watching like that. A lot of people bring up the point of how it's annoying to read but if you're used to it then it really is nothing. In my mind I might as well have understood the japanese because I've read what they're saying, heard what they're saying, and put the two together in my mind. People will argue that's "harder" but it's really not (I don't think anyways). As long as you just keep watching like that it doesn't even occur to you that it's a step your brain takes anymore. |

I can only stand English dubs. English subs don't work for me at all, being someone who's only ever watched English dubbed anime. |

@Sin Yeah, I guess it's just a matter of taste in the end, I'll usually go for the dub if it's an option, but if not subs are fine with me. I haven't watched many subbed anime's, but I've picked up a little in terms of language titles like -san and -sama, etc. It's really what you grow up watching I guess, since I watched only dubs on Toonami, I guess that makes me a little biased towards them. It just seemed to me like a good deal of the hardcore anime fanbase has a kind of resentment for dubs, especially older (1990s) ones. Honestly, I have a bit of a nostalgic view of those old dubs, I mean when you think about it they introduced a lot of Western people to anime, and that counts for something IMO. History's Strongest Dsiciple Kenichi. Not really the super powers of DBZ and what not, as it focuses more on actual martial arts. A lot of action, comedy, and story arcs. Though the ending is rather abrupt. 50 episodes long. As for the subs/dubs debate, well some series I like dub better than the original voices, like DBZ. Original has him sound like a pre-pubescent kid. Funimation actually has him sound like he's gotten out of puberty and had a couple of kids. Other series, not so much. |

As far as English dubs and Funimation go, Schemmel and Sabat are fantastic. The original voice for Goku is pretty kid-like. |
