Speaking of Inou-battle, there were some things about last episode... First of all, Andou is literally worst MC ever to be seen. The way he just told Hatoko to fuck off with such a straight face is unacceptable! During the start of this episode, I was (for various reasons), thinking that "this is totally gonna end up all KokoroCo again", and the episode proceeded with Hatoko just snapping, and oh my god was it good. I think her VA did a really good job at that scene, to be honest. On top of that, we're getting more interaction with the other power-users in the coming episodes, so that's cool. The one thing that gets me about the show tho, is that it's soooo obvious who he's gonna end up with, although it's understandable, since even though multiple girls seem to care for him, it's not a harem, so there's not much of a competition going on.

Still, Hatoko will forever remain best Inou-girl.

Further proves my point. The childhood friend, despite probably being the best of the group all round, often gets screwed over and taken advantage of. Only on very few occasions do they actually get things to go their way. I know of only a bare handful where that actually happens. Meanwhile, the MC usually either has the harem ending or goes with basically the worst choice of the group, often the one that is abusive/manipulative mentally, emotionally, and/or physically.

This is something I greatly enjoy with Kokoro Connect, and a big part of why I love it so much.

Tagged because Zyan has STILL not finished it...

Despite all of this, however, Hatoko is not going to be the one to end up with Andou at the end of Inou-battle. It's way too obvious how it will play out, albeit still as enjoyable to watch. Like I said, it's not a harem in the traditional sense, so there's really no ambiguity or competition as to who is going to win in the end.

I have no idea what series you are on about. Might want to start remembering character names.

Yep. I was smiling and giving her the thumbs up the whole time. And honestly, would not have blamed her if she slapped him a couple times as well. She just completely tore into him. Nice to see a character actually unload like that for once.

And to go back to the previous episode, for once, the whole "the medicine made me sleepy" trope was actually true. Not some BS "bad history" thing wanting him to leave so she could be alonge, just a simple misunderstanding that was actually cleared up pretty quickly. Nice to see the creator actually backing off/making fun of normal cliche anime plots.

Well, to be fair, this is Trigger we're talking about. But yea, I was totally expecting something like the usual there, and was kinda surprised when she just said it was true, and that was that. The entire series really is rather well-written, even if it isn't super innovative or mind-blowing or anything. It's a nice change of pace, and it continues being a good (one of the better of this season) show.

Subverting or putting a new twist on common anime tropes seems to be Trigger's forte so far.

Edit: And it looks like Savepoints beat me to the punch there.

Latest episode of Korra. Normally, I don't care for recap episodes, but this one was actually done pretty well. It had Korra, Mako, and Bolin each tell their back stories up until the present, but with the characters they're with interject their own commentary, making it pretty hilarious. Not much else to it, but it was funny.
