Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, i beautiful and painful to watch. I love it but it always puts me in a terrible mood. Depressed and bitter, i really like the ending of the latest episode. 9/10 love it, this might just be another 10/10 for me depending on how it continues.

Legend of Korra and Avatar series Finale
Spoiler: click to toggle

This episode(s) concluded not only the Korra series, but also the Avatar series in general. And it has come a long way since 2 Water Tribe kids found a boy frozen in an iceberg.

Korra started out with a good season 1, with the Equalist movement and non-benders wanting more equality while Korra was trying to learn Air bending. Season 2, at least the first half, was basically season 1 redux, but then Korra found out about the first avatar and the spirit or order and how they worked together to bring about peace and order for the world. She then battled her uncle who had become the Dark Avatar, and ended up destroying him, but allowed the spirits to stay.

Season 3 is where things really began getting good. With the resurfacing of the Air Nation but the renewed threat of the Red Lotus. It began with the assassination of the Earth Queen in a pretty gruesome fashion. And then it climaxed with the kidnapping of Korra and poisoning her in order to completely end the Avatar. Luckily, with the help of the new Air Nation and the rest of Team Avatar, the Red Lotus was defeated.

And now 3 years later. Kuvira, who had been basically a daughter to Su Yin Beifong, rose to power as a harsh dictator in the power vacuum left by the Earth Queen's death. Korra though, was still heavily traumatized by her experiences with the Red Lotus, and until, ironically enough, being helped by the last member and leader of the group, she could not fight effectively.

I give the Avatar series, as a whole, a 9.9 out of 10. I had to deduct .1 for the first half of season 2 of Korra.

But seriously, that ending. Did they actually go that route? Such a shame this is the last of the franchise for the foreseeable future.

Angel Beats! is being rebroadcasted from Jan 8th. It's still a shot in the dark, but seeing how close this is to the mysterious "project announcement" they had, it's possible that this is a remake, which if it is, then HYYYYYYPE!

Also, the new trailer for AZ s2 makes me a bit worried... There are just so many "hints" simply saying "fuck the s1 ending lol". Hopefully, that still won't be the case (completely), but I wouldn't be surprised, honestly.

And god damn has it been a great journey! Started following A:TLA as a kid, and it was by far my favorite show. Even years later, when I started getting into anime, it remained one of the best shows I'd seen, to the point where I went back and rewatched the entire thing (and if you know me, you know I have a really hard time rewatching stuff on my own, not to mention 3 seasons of something). Was super excited when Korra was announced, and loved the first season. It was a bit more mature in its presentation than A:TLA was, but remained the same good show at its core.

Along comes season 2. Like you said, the first half of it was pretty similar, but to be honest, that's not what I would subtract points for. I'm not really in the camp saying season 2 (especially the ending) is outright bad or anything, but there's no denying they took it a bit too far, and as a result, it's no doubt the worst of the 4 seasons. Still, it brings a lot to the board, and without it, we'd never get...

Season 3, which again, no doubt, is by far the best one out of them all. Everything from the story, to the character development, animation, and the Red Lotus. It all adds up to create such a great season, and I honestly thought it was going to be really hard to top it.

Finally, we get season 4. Even with Nick being total assfaces, forcing clips episodes and shit, this also turned out to be a great season in general. Not as good as season 3, but great nonetheless. Kuvira was really awesome, and in a way reminded me a lot of Azula, and this was probably the season where they took the "modernization" to its limit, what with the time skip and all.

But here we are. 6 years, and 6 months later, and it's all over.

Spoilerific thoughts on season 4

Nothing really against that ending, as there were a few subtle hints about it (not much, but they were there), just actually surprised they went down that route.

AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day - 8/10

Overall an enjoyable show, although a little more hyped in the feels department than I really felt. Sure, was sad, but not "I'm going to bawl my eyes out" sad. Don't get me wrong, I thought the sad parts were feelsy, and the show did set it up to be one of the saddest shows I've ever seen, it's just I never felt like I was at the point where it was too much feels for me to handle. Otherwise, good show, nice comedic value and likable characters. Worth at least one watch.

Amagi Brilliant Park series.
This was a good slice of life/fantasy series about a high school kid recruited to become the manager of an amusement park in danger of going out of business. The goal was to get to 500,000 visitors after a period of 3 months, and every episode something different would pop up that would create new issues which Kanie, the kid recruited to manage the park, would then turn into his advantage. Such things included a pirate invasion, mole people, a dragon, and even dysfunctional cast members. Not to mention a more personal problem regarding the owner which deeply affects Kanie.

While not the best series out there, it was a pretty good one to watch. 8/10.

Sword Art Online II: Final impressions (9/10)

My hopes for this season of the show were really high up there, especially since I read the novels and knew everything that was going to happen. Unsurprisingly, it was everything I hoped it to be. GGO was beautifully animated, Calibur was alright, and Mother's Rosario was everything I could ever want out of it. I'm extremely satisfied with how this season turned out, and hoping they can make Aliciazation whenever the novels decide to finish it.

Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete - Final Impressions - (6/10):
Well, not surprising that I lowered the score on this, I guess. While it starts out with an interesting story premise, pretty much every other aspect of it is pretty weak. Mediocre characters, voice acting, and animation. First few episodes were actually quite alright, though, but after that I felt like they just dropped the whole premise of the show to pretty much only put focus on the SOL-part of the series, which was so incredibly boring. When they finally return to the actual premise near the end, it's everything you guessed it would be after the first episode, and this predictable makes things even worse, when the show wants to be all shocking revealing all of it. The entire last part with Yui was pretty bad too, because you don't care about Kaori enough to be all broken by the repeated attempts and all. Could've been much better, but they dropped the ball really early on.

Wait... How did you finish it already? I mean, it's supposed to be 13 episodes, no? And I can't seem to find episode 13 anywhere. You hiding something?

In other news, we now have official confirmation on everything regarding Key and Angel Beats! So basically, we're not getting an Angel Beats! remake with the broadcast (unfortunately). The new AB project involves 2 things, one of which is the continuation (or creation) of the VNs, and the other one is an OVA called "Hell's Kitchen", that's bundled with the new BD release. I'm kinda expecting a comedy-focused OVA here, much like Stairway to Heaven, but I guess we'll see.

The new project being worked on by Key is instead something titled "Charlotte", and it's gonna be an original work by P.A. Works (eww), so I'll be going into that with caution, for sure. Charlotte is said to be broadcasted in 2015.

My bad. Episode 12 seemed like an ending episode the way everything was portrayed. Didn't realize it was 13 episodes.

Ah, well I haven't caught up to that show yet, tho I happen to know how episode 12 ends, so I can see how you could think that. I seriously thought I'd missed something tho, lol.

Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de - Final Impressions - (8/10):
Let's start by saying that I really liked this series. It's funny, cute, and Hatoko best girl. However, I am pretty disappointed with the ending we got. Basically, what we're left with is absolutely no progress in terms of the Fairy War (introduced way too late, and then kinda just dropped), and an ambiguous status ending for the romance, which is almost even worse than like a harem ending. I get that this is what they had to work with in terms of source material, but if they could do the actual ending original, then they could have just as well went original a few episodes earlier, and tried to finish up at least one of those plotlines. The ending doesn't really set up for a second season or anything, it's just the end. In a way, I guess you could see Andou's last line to Chifuyu as a sort of message from the creators, much like the Dude in Lebowski, although that's kind of a longshot. So yeah, great SOL-comedy with a nice twist, but they should've either dropped the Fairy War stuff entirely, or finished it up. Here's to hoping for second season!

Definitely clears it up. And ending with 2 bisexual characters, one of them being the main protagonist (bisexual since both were attracted to Mako). I doubt Nick has any other show that will be as deep as the Avatar series, so that's probably the last we see of such a relationship on Nick. I have also seen some interesting comments on the ending. Surprisingly, the most interesting where not the ones against it, but for. Basically saying as soon as Korra and Asami got to the Spirit World, they had hot lesbian scissoring.

I'll be interested to see Doug and Rob Walker's v-log on this (Doug is better known as the Nostalgia Critic), as both thought the creators wouldn't be able to go this route.

Oh, and it is confirmed that the Avatar comics will continue. Whether or not they'll do the Korra ones, I don't know. But the Last Airbender ones will continue.
