Yeah the new helmet makes no sense, would have been much better black. I hate when teams do that, half a decent uniform ruined by an awful helmet color. |

It seems the main four guys being mentioned for the Ravens to draft at number 32 is safety Matt Elam from Florida State, ilb Ogletree from Georgia, ilb Minter from LSU, and wr Quinton Patton from Louisiana Tech. I'd feel bad for Elam since he'd be following two hall of fame safeties (Woodson and Reed). Out of them, I think Ogletree would be the best pickup but Patton seems like he could be the next Boldin and the Ravens need a number 2 receiver badly. Manti T'eo has been mentioned as well, but I don't think he's a good enough athlete to be 3-4 linebacker. He'd be better off in a standard 4-3 defense. Edited by Shadow Dragon, Apr 23 2013, 06:45 PM.

By the way, totally forgot to post my thoughts on the Jets trading Revis, arguably their best player in franchise history- let's face it, he doesn't have much competition in that regard. Either way, a bittersweet trade. They can do a lot with the picks they got, Tampa's first this year (13) and a third next year. In the end it came down to money, and in my mind no cornerback is worth 16 million a year, even if he is Revis. Naysayers may point out that a corner is a hugely important position, I listened to one radio host bringing up Champ Bailey, and how he spit the bit in the playoff game against the Ravens. Here's the thing though, Revis played in TWO AFC title games, and the Jets lost both, in pretty epic fashion. The Colts and Steelers exploited other areas of the defense and largely ignored Revis, who was a virtual non-factor. The Steelers ran the ball well, and Peyton Manning threw against everyone in that secondary not named Revis. Keep in mind these are two of the biggest games the Jets have played in over 40 years, and they blew both of them, with Revis. He's a once in a generation player, maybe the best ever at his position, but he's a cornerback. The Jets need to move on, if they draft well, they can turn this thing around pretty quick. They have a TON of compensatory picks next year (2014) add to that the fact that they may very well be one of the worst teams in the league, this years and next years draft can put the jets in a good spot for 2015 on. |

From what I've seen, just on reading up, looks like Offensive Linemen are the most talented players in the draft, we could see O-linemen go at 1, 2, and 3. I hope the Jets go with an O-Lineman, 1st step in building a legitimate NFL offense, even if it's not a "sexy" pick. |

While the Jets could use an assist in the trenches, they shouldn't ignore wide receiver in the first round. They desperately need a reliable person for Sanchez to throw to. One of the mocks had them taking the tight end from Notre Dame. |

Are you kidding me? A cornerback? Unreal. I hate this team. I really do. I don't care how good he is, he's a cornerback, with injury concerns no less. This team has much MUCH more dire needs than a damn defensiveback. Fuck off Rex. This is a Rex pick, I know it. I'm tired of them blowing their 1st round picks on defensive player, please JUST TAKE AN OFFENSIVE PLAYER. Holy s**t. Edited by beastman721, Apr 25 2013, 08:38 PM.

I'm really just at a loss for words. Maybe the draft pool wasn't all that talented, but these are two awful picks, if only by the fact that they fill none of the pressing needs the Jets have, on both sides of the ball. I realize Revis was gone, but taking a corner was just asinine. The jets were pretty good against the pass last year, and they have two bona-fide starters in Cromartie and Wilson. Then they take ANOTHER defensive tackle, one who doesn't fit the scheme they run. A total curveball, and a horses**t pick. It's the Jets. They never do anything right. Ever. Yeah, unless it was a top ranked pass rusher that fell to them, they should have used their picks for offense. |

The guys they picked MIGHT turn out to be good players, but they passed up on absolute layups, and once again, this offense is ignored for the defense. This draft has the potential to set them back years, it's just that brutal of a job. And at this point, I'm 100% convinced that Rex Ryan has this franchise by the balls. Those two picks were his picks. No doubt. He's a terrible football coach. He's responsible for the most embarrassing season the team has had in 20 years, and he's in absolute control of the franchise, and just picked two first rounders in what could have been a huge draft for them. Unreal. Edited by beastman721, Apr 25 2013, 09:17 PM.

Classic Rex, "Millner and Richardson 'Play like Jets'"... I sure as s**t hope not! The team was ranked 30th in offense last year, maybe their defense will be decent, hell it could be a very good defense, but this offense just simply does not have the talent, let alone explosiveness to compete on a weekly basis. They're gonna play, and probably lose, a ton of ugly, low-scoring games. This is why I wanted them to trade out of the 13th pick. If you're gonna pick a Defensive Tackle, fine, just make sure you trade down after at get some more picks to shore up the Skill positions, and offensive line. But no, they pick a Corner at 9, and a DT at 13, and don't have as many picks as I would have liked to get some help for the offense. After thinking about it for a little, and stepping away from the ledge, the DT they picked at #13 can really be a great player, but picking a Corner at #9 is just absurd. Of all the pressing needs the Jets have, cornerback was not one of them, despite revis departing. To take a corner that high really just speaks volumes about how much control Rex has over everything. Awful Pick. Simply put, you just can't keep ignoring the offense, it won't work. At this point, I just hope they can get a decent O-Lineman somewhere in the second round. It's going to be a truly awful season. At least be entertaining to watch. Gonna be great seeing them lose every other game 16-6. Edited by beastman721, Apr 25 2013, 10:42 PM.

Yeah. Especially considering the Jets could have gotten that tight end from Notre Dame and an offensive lineman. Anyways, I really wanted Alec Ogletree to fall to the Ravens, but the Rams just had to grab him like right before the Ravens got to pick. I was so hoping that the Rams would pick T'eo instead. But, I can't complain about Elam. By all regards, he's considered a really talented safety and it's a position that Ravens needed help at. Edited by Shadow Dragon, Apr 26 2013, 10:11 AM.

Atleast the Jets are not like the Raiders. THEY DRAFTED A KICKER IN THE FIRST ROUND!!! And that kicker is the best player they have. And this loser, Face it the Raiders suck because of Al Davis. |
