Honestly, I kinda like it. At this point, anythings better than a shattered Mark Sanchez, not saying he should start, but at least they have a future in the QB department that doesn't involve a guy who completes less than 50% of his passes on a weekly basis and runs into his lineman's ass.

And it was pretty good value considering where they got him, and them not trading up to get him, thus sacrificing more picks. Put it this way, if the Patriots selected him, it would be looked at as a shrewd value move. The kid has a chip on his shoulder, maybe it's a good thing.

Either way, I don't think he should start this year. Let him sit behind David Garrard, learn how to read defenses, and more importantly, build the team up so that when he finally takes the snap from under center, he's got a decent team around him.

And yeah, he's my new avatar. Guy gives me hope one day I'll finally see a legit NFL QB play for this team.

The Mark Sanchez era is over, but the sting of the buttfumble will be felt for years. I'm kinda glad he's gone. Seemed like a good guy, pretty decent QB when he was on, but after that play, I was done forever.

Wait a couple of years. I say about 2 years he'll be slowly playing.

All in all, the Jets seemed to follow a "Best Player Available" method to their drafting in the first two rounds. Last night, I was hoping they'd draft to address their needs, and thus promptly flipped out after seeing them draft a DB and DT however, after some time and though, it's not so bad as I thought.

Obviously, time will tell, but nabbing two potential defensive studs and a possible franchise quarterback with your first three picks ain't too shabby.

What they need to do now is make sure they don't rush Geno. Have him sit a year, and only put him in when he's ready, don't just throw the guy to the dogs ala Sanchez. And if they really think Geno's the guy, then they NEED to surround him with quality offensive talent, both on the line, and in the skill positions. He needs to be put in a position to Succeed.

And for what it's worth, the guy put up some monster numbers at West Virginia, completing 71% of his passes with 42 TDs and just 6 picks. Those are very, very good numbers, and while I'm certainly not reading a whole lot into them, they're much better than Sanchez's when he came out of USC.

The Sanchez experiment failed, miserably. Maybe he wasn't made of very stern stuff, and didn't have the NFL qb savvy to be a franchise qb, but the Jets did him no favor by essentially striping away what little talent they had at the skill positions to begin with, and replacing those players with cast-offs.

With Mornhinweg here, hopefully they make a conscious effort to acquire legitimate playmakers in the 2014 draft, and offseason to help build this offense to where it can compete at a high level, on a consistent basis.

There's lots of what-ifs, and maybes, but hopefully this is the start of something good for the Jets.

I was happy with the Ravens day 2 picks. Brown was arguably the second best ilb of the draft, and they got a DT who can get the quarterback. On passing downs they will have Suggs, Dumerville, Ngata, and Brandon Williams going after the QB now.

Anyway, the thing that worries me is that they'll have Geno start right away this year with the excuse of "he beat everyone out in camp". If that's the case, then obviously they'd need to look a little bit harder to find a competent, professional QB to take the beat-down this year while the team rebuilds.

I think Garrard can be that guy, hopefully. If he can stay healthy, all he needs to do is just produce a workmanlike effort each week, and be a good mentor to Geno. I think he can and will do both.

Also, Rex needs to stay the hell away from Geno. I'm dead serious. Just let Mornhinweg run the offense, I don't want Rex involved in any facet of the offense, right down to the waterboy.

Rex just has zero understanding and grasp of anything related to the offensive side of the ball, and that's okay, but for four years he had freakin' Brian Schottenheimer and Tony Sparano running the damn thing. Now at least he has a successful coordinator who's produced highly successful offense, and knows what it takes to craft a 21st century offense.

I'm not really optimistic about next season at all, but hopefully the young guys do well, and the team doesn't embarrass itself like last year. I'm not joking when I said the 2012 Jets were the most embarrassing Jets team in 20 years. They were hideous. Anything is better that that collection of ass-fumbling clowns

I heard the CFL is debating bring Tebow in. Should we in Canada be worried?

Actually, since I think the CFL fields are bigger, Tebow would have more room to run around. Could be the perfect fit for him.

So, according to Warren Moon, Tebow wouldn't be able to make it in the CFL: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9234640/warren-moon-tim-tebow-throwing-not-cut-cfl

Considering that it is even more of a passing league than the NFL, I can't say I disagree with him.

Sanchez could go burn in hell for the next millennium and I wouldn't care. I will never forgive him for the buttfumble, ever.

The more I think about it, trading for Tebow was the single most absent-minded trade the Jets have ever made, and that's saying something. The dude's a nice guy, but he can't throw and he pretty much ruined Sanchez (what was left of him) with his mere presence.
