The Wii U; Just bad marketing?

So realizing the Eagles may not make the play offs, I took advantage of Best Buy's $275 for a Wii U, Super Mario 3D World, and Nintendoland bundle (a really good deal imo).

So far, I've LOVED the Wii U. Even that large 'tablet controller' feels comfortable in my hands, Mario World is a ton of fun, and I feel like the potential for this system is SO MUCH HIGHER than any other on the market.

Nintendo seems like the ONLY company doing any real innovation. The problem with an XBOX One and PS4 is that the only 'bar raised' was graphics and processing power. Yes, this is important, don't get me wrong, but look at what Nintendo brings to the table. This tablet controller REALLY IS innovation. I tried to think of a few ideas for what would make the Wii U awesome in terms of game selection. I feel like any of these could have HUGE success.

A 'Neverwinter Night' styled RPG -
Let the DM use the touch pad while the other players use the controllers. As a DM, you're invisible on the TV screen, but you show up just fine on the tablet. It would be awesome to plant monsters, traps, etc then dynamically adjust and change things while your players battle on. It seems like this would make for an AMAZING party game. Add an online element to it, and I'd be sold!

Pokemons -
Let's face it, the Wii U sales weren't great. Want to really burst them up. The first 'console' pokemon adventure (similar to the gameboy ones). Hell I'd also pack some of the old pokemon games on there just for nostalgia sake. There is some REALLY COOL stuff you could do with that tablet controller I bet.

MARKETING -
How many people believe the Wii U is simply that tablet controller? How many people don't see a difference between Wii and Wii U. It needs to market itself as a totally different experience THAT IS STILL BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE. All your old Wii Games still work. Your controllers still work. Etc. Build towards showing people what makes a Wii U so cool.

Ultimately, Nintendo seems to be the ONLY company REALLY innovating. I feel like if the library grows a bit, there's real potential for this to be an awesome system.

Really agree with that first point. NWN is probably the best platform out there for DMing and roleplaying with others online, and even after 10+ years there are still dedicated RP servers that have stayed active for all that time. Anyone who recreates it to be more functional and easier to use is gonna win over a large base of people. Soooo much potential

It was really one of the first things I thought when holding and seeing it. "Damn this would be SO SWEET in an RPG. If you could style a NWN RPG you'd make so much on that.
That tablet is the perfect design for me to throw in enemies or traps or anything on the fly without people seeing the screen.

There's still a real market for this stuff, I just feel it's not being aggressively attacked.
