So, basically a recurring theme in most anime that have someone from the US, UK, or other Western countries (may as well throw in Russia too) is that they are almost always shown as blonde haired, blue eyed, and an eccentric personality of sorts. Also, aside from a handful of exceptions, black people are portrayed as they were in the 1970s (afros, huge sunglasses, etc) and even more eccentric. An exception to this would be Panther Spencer from Eyeshield 21 (though the name is rather odd, even by football player standards here), but yeah. Just something I've noticed. Though I did see a Japanese version of how they stereotype white people. It was, different. The guy was blonde haired and blue eyed of course, but also had a big ass nose. |
