The defense of our establishment; A filthy scrap of birchbark

A half-curled stretch of birchbark is pinned mercillessly to the board with almost all of its tacks, impaled at a lopsided angle to keep it flat. A few tacks were scattered on the ground before it, indicating that the curly parchment had shed some of its restrictions since its postage. Familiarly messy, charcoal handwriting scrawled accross the pages, though the single-character signature at its base would indicate the author of the message.

I have urgent news. A fellow of apparently undead origins has recently begun to terrorize our sister establishment, The Broken Dagger. He is known as "Foust", and is apparently, to some degere, physically indestructable. Hence, he is far beyond my abilities and knowledge of defeating mortal opponents. He has pledged to either kill or enslave everyone in the entirety of the tavern, and has assaulted several members already. My observations lead me to believe he has enslaved at least one furre at this time. He is regularly causing expensive damage to our establishment, and after speaking with him rather extensively i find he cannot be reasoned with. These threats are unacceptable, and I regret making the decision that he should be eradicated, or else banished from the dream entirely, for fear he should cause further damage. Given my limited experience with creatures of his kind, I request the help of my closest allies: Prroul, Lady Geriko, and Shadow Beast, as well as any others who can assist in defending the establishment. My partner Dimitri has apparently abandoned his duties against Foust due to fear; as his initial attempt at killing the man did nothing. I'm unsure why he has such terror of the fellow, but it cannot be helped. Also, should the lady Felicity Sumner read this, i would like to meet with her personally, with hop ethat she might find out about this creature and how it may be destroyed.

In place of a name, the kanji "Raikou" was scratched rather hastily about the bottom of the bark.

This note is written on a thin rice-parchment. The ink is of a dark blue shade, and seems to have flecks of sand impregnated in it

I have seen this person of whom you speak. I agree with you. This man is not sane. His blade does things that no blade should be able to do. While this does not particularly concern me, enchanted blades have always been made, and can be dealt with, it does underpin his lethality.

I highly suggest that any who see him report him imediately to myself of Raikeen and avoid him at all costs. He is an extremely dangerous man who is apparently very difficult to kill, and has absolutely NO hesitation to kill anyone.

I'm an old campaigner... this has all my old instincts telling my my hackles should be rising up. There's more to this tactical problem than meets the eye, I just wish I knew what it was. I only had one occasion to observe him, and that made me... wonder. He doesn't act like you would expect your typical anti-demon guy to act. Believe me, when you've lived as long as I have, and fought as many enemies as I have, you get a feel for how certain personalities act. This guy claims to be a killer of demons, which I am not wholey against in most cases, but his actions are far more... chaotic.

I think there is another player in this game, one I haven't seen yet. And I do not like the shape its actions are taking on. It almost reminds me of a religious zealot, justifying any and all actions, no matter how terrible, in the name of some great Cause. I have fought demons, lycanthropes, vampires, dragons, even angels on occasion... a religious zealot concerns me more than all of them combined.

I reiterate: This man, Foust, is a danger to everyone in his presence. He is like a raging plains fire, terrible in it's wrath, absolutely lethal to anyone in the area, and should only be dealt with by trained professionals. Should any encounter him... my advice is to flee. I know it goes against the grain, particularly those honorable knights who have sworn to defend the defenseless and rightfully sees this Foust as a danger to the defenseless, but this is a foe who has displayed some very disturbing abilities which hint at other even more disturbing abilities, and is still largely an unkown.

Any information concerning this individual would be greatly appreciated. This appreciation can be in a monatary form if necessary.

Foust, you are On Notice. Should any security personel catch you acting in a manner against the rules of the establishment, they are hereby authorized to use any means necessary to remove you without needing to issue a warning. Consider this your formal warning, if you will.

By my hand,

Weaponsmaster Prroul

Baited

Baited had been wandering this new tavern when he saw the notice. His blood ran cold - he had sat at the very table where Foust had been the other day. He took out his quill and began to write...

The creature of which you speak evaded my grasp only yesterday. I believe I know the identity of the one he has imprisoned. I advise you not to fight him - only to capture him. He does not appear to be physically weak in any shape, way, or form - my own opinion is that all that can be done is to lock him up in irons until a suitable form of eradicating him is found.
I will keep my eyes open for it.

-- Baited.
"And lo, Baited came down from the heavens, and unto his peers, he spoke, "Whats da fizzle ma shizzle?""

"Whats the point of those church signs? Its not like a rabid screaming Jesus is gonna jump out of the bushes."

"The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed."

Lena had just entered the bar when she noticed the board was full of papers. With a sigh she walked over and began to read all of them knowing very well what they were about and who it was htey were directed to. On a clean sheat of tanish white paper was written in very neat writting.

I have also met this Foust on many occasions which I did not like. He is indeed very strong and seemingly impossible to beat but he does have a weakness. I am not sure exactly what but I have found a soft spot a while ago. Though it escapes my mind at the moment. Something to do with his speech and magic, if I can remember properly. I would advise against him being locked up because he will just break free again, and we all know that if he gets out he will be even worse. I will do my best to remove this fiend from our taverns and hopefully help the young lady he has taken hold of. I already have one of my colleagues on a mission to find a counter spell to what he has done to this young lady, but it is going to be a while.

At the bottom a symbol of two doves was placed along with a very formal name,

To the one known as 'Baited'. I appreciate your concern, however I'm quite capable of defending myself from anything up to and including a whole blasted Kython Hive. This Foust is indeed powerful, he has several obnoxious tricks up his sleeve, however he doesn't realize what he is dealing with. Nor am I going to say what at this time, it would be foolish at best to tell your foe what you can and cannot do, after all, and anyone can read a pegboard message.

Capturing him would be counterproductive, as he has some ability to cloud men's minds and take them over, not unlike a Master Vampire's ability actually, although more powerful and I don't think he needs eye contact to do it. In short, even if we could find a substance which could hold him (which we don't have available), he would simply tell the guards to release him and they would.

I have a plan which should deal with him adequitely. Doing this is something best left to the Security Staff. Again, I will not go into details as he may be able to read it.

Raikeen, Shadow Beast, and I are going to deal with this problem, one way or another.

Lena, please contact one of the Three when you have more concrete findings.

Once again, I remind everyone that this is an extremely dangerous entity. He displays some of the strengths of an extremely powerful Vampire... which is to say he can charm people with his voice, he is nearly immune to physical damage, and he is supernaturally strong. If you see him, DO NOT ENGAGE HIM, but retreat and inform one of the hired personel. He is not welcome in this establishment. If I catch him here, I will remove him, however I need to do so. And if he thinks he can keep me from doing it... I'll disabuse him of that notion.
