Online Dueling; A great way to hone your skills

Online Dueling

Online dueling is a great way to hone your skills. Plus, it lets you playtest expensive cards before you buy them by using proxies. I can’t use Yugioh Video Dueling for a few reasons, but if you can, YVD is THE way to duel. You can download YVD at XeroCreative.com. But let’s say that you can’t use YVD. That leaves Text Dueling, which is quite a bit of fun. Sure, there’s the possibility of cheating -- but people can cheat in person, too. It’s just easier via text dueling ... but honestly, who cares? It’s just a game, and if somebody is pathetic enough to cheat, then they have some serious problems. However, I’ve never dueled anyone who I thought was cheating, and I have fun everytime I duel online.

Yugioh-DECK.com is a great resource for the online duelist. If you text duel, you can’t see your opponent’s cards, and you may run into one you don’t know. Just look up the card in Yugioh-DECK’s database. This doesn’t take long and shouldn’t interrupt the duel. Or you can just ask your opponent about the card.

When text dueling, it may tempt you to cheat. Resist the temptation! Cheating will suck the fun out of dueling. I’ve never cheated during a text duel, and I’ve never really been tempted, but I can’t imagine that winning via cheating could be fun.

Online dueling is a good way to improve your skills, but no way is it as good as the real thing. It is more fun to actually see your opponent, so you can see their priceless expressions when you do something to their fav. monster or something. lol. Also, you can definately catch them easier if they try and pull something.

I can't argue with you there. However, there aren't too many duelists in my area, so I have to duel online to gain skill and playtest decks.

Yah, that is sometimes the problem. That is a major plus to internet dueling, but I would prefer a real life match so to speak over a YVD or text duel one.

i think most ppl would. but as u probably know, if ur only dueling the same ppl day after day, u start to know their decks, tactics, and strategies. online dueling offers a window to more players with many diff levels.

Yeah, so I'm always on the lookout for new people to duel online. It's a great way to recruit people to the forum, ya know.

Yah, that is true. It is always fun to duel new people who have strategies or decks you haven't faced.
