Most of you (what most of us? It's me and you, Vampy) here remember the old fic I'd been working on so long ago, before my writing stopped being quite so dismal and much more... publishable.
 But, for those of you wondering, here's what would've went down had I completed the storyThe headlines go crazy with the news of Kaiba and his "whore", as they're calling her, and it strains the relationship. Kaiba shows a side of himself only Roland and Mokuba had ever seen before to her, and supports her through very dark times. Joey,. who chases after Mai after giving up on Anzu, finds himself hating Kaiba even more after Mai accepts his proposal. Anzu is still as lovable and smexy as we remember, but would soon be sporting a House-style crutch to walk with, after that accident messed up her leg. They decided not to sue on the grounds that Kaiba threw a public duel with Joey, making it seem like he obviously lost. Joey, at this point, would need the ego boost, and Kaiba would willingly accept, thinking it beter than losing his fortune on Anzu. Serenity accepted Duke's proposal, as all of you read, and as they prepare to hit the alter (Tristan = best man, and Serenity is the Maid of Honor. Joey would be giving miss Serenity away), the rapist who hurt Serenity before is not happy at all. As far as he is concerned, emotional chaos is happiness to him. When he is causing others pain, it makes him happy. He is proud that he can do this to people, proud of the "power" he thinks he has: if he can cause complete strangers that kind of pain, accordign to his warped mind, he can do anything. So when he sees that, despite some suferring, his actions only made Serenity and Duke happier, Hesume goes into a rage. He tries to kill Serenity and Duke, but is stopped by Ryou, who at that point would be playing the part of a mysterious hero. Hesume would be beaten and bloody and quickly sent to prison for attempted murder. Yeah, that's right, Hesume isn't me afterall, but instead someone much darker and evil. A PLOT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING! BWAHAHAHAHAA! Anyway, Eventually, after Ryou saves Serenity, he finds himself "needing" to protect her more, and see after some time of following her how truly happy she is with Duke. Serenity didn't want Ryou to begin with, he realized, only someone to go with to that dance ages ago to show herself as not a total loser. After the incident, Serenity thought she would never see her love again, and with Duke back, as much as it pains Ryou, she is happy... and for that, he is happy. Luckily for little Yugi, Ryou feels the way he does, and when Ryou needs a shoulder to cry on, Yugi provides one, however vertically challenged it may be. Ryou goes through a strange set of days over the next week or so. He finds himself repulsed by the idea of making love to Yugi - he is, afterall, completely straight - but he finds himself also falling in love with him. Unsure of how to handle this, he confides in Yugi, and he says it was never the making love part he needed. It was the having love from the beginning. For Ryou, trhe embrace that followed would have been twice as comforting as it was awkward, and for Yugi, it was the start of somethign wonderful... Ryou would warm up to the idea of yaoi.... and Yugi could helpp to speed that up, with his Yami's help. (Yeah, that's right, another YamixYugi lemons after a while. I would have hated to write it, but it was for the story) Last but not least comes Tristan. Everyone else has found love and is happy, even the cold Seto Kaiba finds himself approaching the alter. Tristan finds himself falling further and further into a deep depression, and when his friends are too involved in themselves to help him through the rough time, Tristan takes his own life with his fathers gun.
